Beginning May 9th at 3PM EST, we are kicking off the Closed Alpha for Deathgarden - a new asymmetrical multiplayer game developed and published by Behaviour interactive. In this fast-paced action title, one overpowered hunter needs to hunt down 5 agile runners, whom are trying to complete objectives as a team.

Ash Pannell, our Creative Director, wanted to create a competitive game “where controls are always responsive for both the runner and the hunter. The game is about your skills and the choices you make to take control of the map." For each round, on top of choosing a class, players have access to a skill tree where they need to choose which powers to upgrade.

The depth of the gameplay is what matters most for us. Each map is procedurally generated within the ‘Garden’, an arena-like complex where runners willingly enter to compete against the champion hunter. “Mixed with the agility of the runner and hunter, the map elevation helps create memorable moments where players hide, escape and outsmart their opponent using the terrain and buildings."

We want to create a game for the long-term. "Our objective is competition before anything. It is important for us to have a 'no grind / pay to win' philosophy." says Matt Jackson, Design Director. Over time, we will be releasing new powers that will be available instantly to everyone so all players start a round with equal advantage.
With Closed Alpha, our objective is to test our online infrastructure and gather feedback on the core gameplay. We will be sending keys gradually to players who signed up on our website in order to stress-test our servers. During this Alpha, our dedicated servers are deployed in North Virginia. We are continuing to work on optimization and for this first phase, the recommended PC specs to obtain our target 60 fps would be around: INTEL CORE I5 2400 with 6GB RAM, a NVIDIA 780GTX and Windows 7, 8 or 10 (Windows 10 providing the best experience). If your PC specs are lower than this we encourage you to still try the Alpha, but with the understanding that the framerate will improve in the future.

To get all the details, players can watch the Kickoff Livestream on May 9th, at 2PM EST on

The access for the Closed Alpha will begin May 9th around 3pm EST, and will conclude May 14th.

Thank you for joining our Closed Alpha and impacting the development of the game!
